Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what personal information Memlane collects, why we collect it, who processes it, and how you can remove it. It applies to the Memlane web application and to this website.

1. Who we are

Memlane is operated by ONLYHUMN LLC, 1007 N Orange St, 4th Floor, Suite #5984, Wilmington, Delaware 19801, United States(“Memlane”, “we”, “us”). We are the controller of the personal information described in this policy. For any privacy question or request, write to [email protected].

2. Information we collect

We collect only what the service needs to work. We do not buy personal information from data brokers.

2.1 Information you give us

  • Account data.Your name and email address from Sign in with Apple. If you use Apple’s private email relay, we store the relay address instead of your personal address.
  • Contacts connection credential. Your Apple ID and an app-specific password. We encrypt the password at rest and use it only to sync your contacts over CardDAV.
  • Contacts and lists. Memlane mirrors the contacts and Contact lists in your iCloud account, including the fields on each contact card. iCloud remains the system of record.
  • Content you create. Dossiers, Notes, Lanes, Routines, Meetups, Webs relationships, and your conversations with the AI assistant.
  • Delivery settings. An email address and, if you turn on SMS, a mobile number for Queue notifications.
  • Support reports. When you submit a problem report we receive your message, the page URL, and basic account diagnostics.

2.2 Information we receive from others

  • Billing data. Stripe processes Memlane Pro payments and tells us your customer identifier, subscription identifier, and subscription status. We never receive or store your full card number.
  • Account event notices.Apple tells us when you revoke Memlane’s access or delete your Apple Account so that we can disable your Memlane account.

2.3 Information collected automatically

  • Usage data. Google Analytics records pageviews on the application and this website.
  • Server logs. Our server records request paths, status codes, timing, and error details for security and debugging.
  • Session cookies. We set a cookie to keep you signed in. It is required for the application and is not used for advertising.

3. Why we use your information

  • To create your account and keep you signed in.
  • To sync your contacts and lists, and to write your changes back.
  • To produce the features you ask for, such as Lanes, Routines, Meetups, Webs, search, and AI assistant replies.
  • To send Queue notification digests by email or SMS.
  • To take payment for Memlane Pro and to apply plan limits.
  • To answer support requests and investigate problem reports.
  • To keep the service secure, prevent abuse, and fix faults.

If the law of your country requires a legal basis, we rely on the performance of our contract with you for the features above, on your consent for SMS notifications, and on our legitimate interest in the security and improvement of the service.

4. Where your data is stored

Memlane runs on a single self-hosted server that our team operates in the United States. Your account data, contacts mirror, content, and job queues live in a Postgres database and a Redis instance on that server. Server logs live on the same server. If you use Memlane from outside the United States, your information is transferred there.

5. Service providers

These providers process personal information on our behalf, and only for the purpose listed. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.

  • Apple — sign-in identity and iCloud contact sync over CardDAV.
  • OpenAI — AI assistant replies and search embeddings.
  • Stripe — Memlane Pro payments and the billing portal.
  • Amazon Web Services — notification email (SES) and SMS (SNS).
  • Google Analytics — pageview statistics.
  • Cloudflare — network routing and the bot check on public forms.

We also disclose information when the law requires it, and to protect our rights or the safety of users.

6. AI features

When you use the AI assistant or search, we send the relevant contact, dossier, and note text to OpenAI so that it can produce a reply or an embedding. We do not send your data to OpenAI, or to anyone else, to train their models. AI output can contain mistakes, so check it before you act on it.

7. How long we keep your data

We keep your account data and content while your account exists. When you delete your account we remove your rows from our database on the next run of the account cleanup job. Server logs and backups age out on a rolling basis. Billing records stay with Stripe for as long as tax and accounting law requires.

8. Your rights and choices

  • Delete your account. Open Settings and request account deletion. We remove your account, your contacts mirror, and your content from our database. We do not delete the contacts in your iCloud account.
  • Withdraw the contacts connection.Revoke the app-specific password in your Apple ID settings at any time. If you revoke Memlane’s sign-in access, we disable the account and remove your data on the same path.
  • Turn off notifications. Use the Queue notification toggles in Settings. Reply STOP to a Memlane SMS to stop text messages.
  • Access, correction, and portability. Write to [email protected] to ask for a copy of your personal information or a correction.
  • Complaints. If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you can complain to your local data protection authority.

We answer rights requests within the period the applicable law sets, and we do not charge you or reduce your service for making one.

9. Security

We serve all traffic over HTTPS, encrypt your contacts connection password at rest, scope every database query to your own account, and rate-limit sensitive endpoints. No service on the internet can promise perfect security, so please use a secure device and network.

10. Children

Memlane is for adults. You must be at least 18 years old to hold an account, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us data, write to us and we will remove it.

11. Changes to this policy

We can update this policy. The date at the top shows the last change. If a change materially affects how we handle your personal information, we will give notice in the application or by email before it takes effect.
